Waterproof testing is a critical aspect of reliability testing for electronic products, designed to evaluate the enclosure's protection against foreign objects, particularly liquids such as water. The IP rating (Ingress Protection) is a standard established by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) to describe the level of dust and water protection provided by an electrical enclosure. The IP rating consists of two digits: the first digit indicates the level of protection against solid objects, while the second digit indicates the level of protection against liquids. Regarding waterproof testing, the levels range from 0 to 9, but it is important to note that the highest level officially defined in the standard is 8. Level 9 is mentioned in certain specific standards or applications but is not universally included in all IP rating standards. The detailed classification of waterproof levels is as follows:

Safety Light Curtain Wiring and Waterproof Testing Explained

Wiring Method for Safety Light Curtain with Controller

1. Connect the transmission cable to the safety light curtain and securely tighten the threaded connector.
2. Connect the brown wire to the 24 V DC positive power terminal of the controller.
3. Connect the blue wire to the 0 V ground terminal of the controller.
4. Connect the black CP wire.
5. Connect the red CE wire.
6. After completing the connections, test the light curtain sensor to ensure the control indicator light is flashing correctly.
