Electromagnetic Locking Safety Switch Operational Principle
The switch is designed to detect the status of the door. When the door is in the closed position, the sensor on the door lock will confirm this and transmit a signal to the control system indicating that the door is closed.

In most cases, the solenoid coil will activate, pushing the latch into the frame or fixture and preventing the door from being opened.

At this point, the control system sends an unlocking signal to the door lock, which reverses its operation. This retracts the latch or unlocks the pin, allowing the operator safe access to the equipment area.
