Challenges:

During the docking process, ship operators need to accurately assess the distance and angle between the ship’s hull and the dock to ensure parallel alignment. Due to limited visibility from the bridge and the impact of rain and fog on visual capabilities, docking requires high skill and increases the risk of accidents.

The system features two LD-50G laser scanner units installed at the bow and stern of the ship, measuring the distance between the bow and stern and the dock. The LD-50G units are aligned with the ship’s longitudinal axis, with the laser scanning plane perpendicular to this axis. By processing the distance data from both the bow and stern, and combining it with the ship’s length, the system accurately calculates the angle and perpendicular distance between the ship and the dock. This data is then displayed graphically on the docking guidance terminal on the bridge, assisting the operator in making precise docking maneuvers.

Based on the Direct Time of Flight (DTOF) ranging principle, it performs 2D area scanning through rotational scanning, with a high point cloud sampling rate of up to 60,000 points per second, enabling precise detection of subtle details in the surrounding environment.

Long-Range Detection For targets with 70% reflectivity, the maximum detection radius reaches up to 50 meters. With an angular resolution as fine as 0.06° and a distance measurement accuracy of ±2 cm, it can accurately identify even small objects over large areas, effectively reducing the risk of missed detections. The LiDAR emits up to 60,000 laser beams per second, coupled with an intelligent filtering algorithm, which significantly enhances its ability to detect small obstacles.

"Zero Blind Spot" Close-Range Detection In addition to achieving a detection radius of up to 50 meters, the LD-50G series offers distinct advantages in close-range detection. Using advanced optical design, it breaks through typical radar design limits to achieve "zero blind spot" detection at close distances. This feature plays a critical role in close-range detection, enabling the LiDAR to promptly and accurately detect dynamic objects nearby, ensuring the safety of edge positions during carrier operation.
